Day 3 – Friday 27th May 2016

Mostly cloudy with occasional showers…
Today the weather wasn’t ideal, and it’s due to stay like this for a few days. We aren’t going to let that hold us back though, because it was 30℃ in Toronto and 32℃ in Ottawa, which is what we’re due in five or six days time, so we’re staying positive you know?
We had a few things to do and the novelty definitely hasn’t worn off yet, because all we done was visit the mall, the grocery store and the liquor store, but even that had us excited! After stocking up (mainly on beers) we headed for Knox Viewpoint in Knox Mountain Park. It’s a shame, because the weather was pretty poor.

After that we headed to Summerhill Pyramid Winery; the most visited winery in British Columbia (yeah we can pretend to do posh too, alright). Entry was free, and wine tasting complimentary, so we thought we’d give it a try. We tasted six different types of wine, and I took pictures of all six bottles so that I could show off and pretend I know what I’m talking about, but that’s entirely inaccurate. So all I’ll actually be specific about is my favourite, the 2012 Cabernets, a red wine described as “powerful, structured full bodied wine with soft tannins, acid, alcohol, and flavour.”

After taking the scenic route home to avoid traffic, for supper we had lasagna, one of my favourites! Then we watched more ice hockey, followed by some basketball (Marion’s love for sport means that we are immediate best friends) and a drama about a kid who has a heart attack, playing ice hockey, of course.
It’s such a nice feeling – I haven’t had to rush for anything since the plane back in London a few days ago, and we have about another year of this to look forward to!
Once again, I’ve no idea what were doing tomorrow but I’m excited for whatever it is already. We managed to stay up until gone 22:00 as well so hopefully tomorrow’s post won’t start with ‘oh I woke up at 05:00 again’, but we’ll see how it goes.
