It feels like we’re about to leave home all over again…
Today is our penultimate day in Kelowna, and what with it being Canada Day tomorrow we spent most of our time getting ready to leave. I know I’ve said it so many times before but I can’t believe how long we’ve been here, and that it’s already nearly time to leave. I genuinely feel like I’ve been staying at a home away from home and I can’t even begin to imagine a way I’d have rather spent the first stop on our adventure around the world.
This morning we had a goodbye visit from Marion’s daughter-in-law and grandchildren, followed by a lunch time goodbye visit from Joyce and Vicky, two of Marions good friends. It’s crazy that we only met these people a month or so ago because it feels like we’ve known them years. Everybody we’ve met here in Kelowna is super friendly but Marion, her family and her friends, are the most wonderful people imaginable. I feel like I’ll be forever in their debt for the way Abbie and I have been welcomed here, but the best I can offer right now is a post on my blog as a way of saying thank you. So here it is.
I dont know when, and it won’t be any time too soon, but we will 100% be back. I know it’s only our first stop, but this is already one of my favourite places on earth.
Our bags are packed now and we’re ready to leave on Saturday, but we have one day left to make the most of Kelowna, which (thanks to our amazing planning) happens to be July 1st – Canada Day. We’ll be heading out early to party for one last day in true Canadian fashion. I have my red and white clothes ready!
