Just like that, Christmas was done..
We spent so much time building up to the big day, but then all of a sudden it was over. We had other things to look forward to though, so it wasn’t all bad.
Day 217 – Monday 26th December 2016
Today was, in my eyes, an absolutely perfect Boxing Day. We didn’t wake up until around midday, and even when we finally got out of bed we only made it as far as the sofa.
Our day consisted of nothing more than food, alcohol and more Christmas movies, until we finally decided that we should probably do something late in the afternoon. We walked from Ramsgate Beach as far as the Depena Reserve, which made us feel much better about ourselves and how lazy we’d been, but wasn’t very far in all honesty.
As for our evening – let’s just say that we made up for the calories lost on our walk and leave it at that eh?
Day 218 – Tuesday 27th December 2016
Today we acually had a fair bit to get done, but didn’t let that get in the way of another slow and easy morning. We spent an hour or so at the beach which left us feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead, then cooked lunch back at the apartment before we got going.
First we had a good old fashioned tidy up, cleared away all of the mess that we managed to create over Christmas, and hoovered the entire place to have it looking perfect again. After that we walked to the store to grab bits for dinner (only pizza and garlic bread, keeping it lazy you know) and got cooking (put the food in the oven).
Back in September we arranged to spend New Years Eve with Abbie’s brother Greg and his girlfriend Hannah, and today was the day that they arrived. They got to the apartment at around 20:00 after driving for twelve hours all the way from Helensvale, then settled into their room and joined us in the living room for a catch up which went on for a good four hours. It wasn’t until just gone midnight that we finally got to bed, absolutely shattered but together again at last, and super excited to spend some more time together over the next week or so!
