Just another travel day…
Today we had our sixteenth flight to our tenth country since leaving home eight months ago (which also happened to be our sixth flight in ten days), from Jakarta to Singapore.
It was straight back into budget mode for us from the second we checked out of our fancy hotel – we showed our true colours by taking an Uber to the airport for 129,500IDR instead of the shuttle which cost 440,000IDR, then decided not to eat because we knew there would be a meal on the plane.
We struggled to find accommodation in Singapore at first, mainly because of Chinese New Year of course, but eventually came across an Airbnb which was cheaper than the majority of hostels anyway! Then for dinner we considered eating at a restaurant, but settled for instant noodles in the end out of pure laziness.
I guess today was just as boring for us living as it must be for you guys reading about it, but it’s not always fun and games, especially when you’re on the move. That said our initial thoughts on Singapore were brilliant, so we had an early night to get set for our first day north of the equator since May last year. Hey, even the toilets flush the right way again now!
